The Curator’s Perspective
Okurindo (奥林道) is a small ramen shop in Shiba Daimon with a distinctive concept: charcoal-grilled seafood turned into a paste and folded into the soup to create an intensely fish-forward bowl. If you like seafood ramen that doesn’t just whisper “umami” but actually tastes like the fish itself, this is a place worth bookmarking—especially for the mackerel option that has built a reputation among locals.
Location & Exterior
Okurindo is in the Shiba Daimon area, walkable from both Hamamatsucho and Daimon stations (around 10 minutes, depending on your route). At lunchtime—especially around noon—it’s common to see a short queue outside.

Interior & Seating
The shop is compact, centered on counter seating (a little over 10 seats). Turnover is relatively quick, but during peak hours it can be hard for groups to sit together. If you want a smoother visit, aim for off-peak timing.
Menu
The lineup focuses on seafood—mackerel, sanma (Pacific saury), squid, sardine, and other variations—along with some more unusual options (including mushroom). Prices may change, so it’s best to check the latest menu on-site before ordering.

Please purchase your meal ticket from the vending machine inside the entrance. Please note that the machine is cash-only (Japanese Yen). Be sure to have some coins or bills ready before you enter.
What to Order (Curator’s Pick)
Choose Your Favorite Charcoal-Grilled Flavor. While the Mackerel (Saba) and Saury (Sanma) are the gold standards here, the true joy of Okurindo lies in choosing the ingredient that speaks to you. Whether you pick seafood or meat, every bowl features their signature “Charcoal-Grilled × Ramen” fusion. The soup is crafted from a rich paste of charcoal-grilled ingredients, resulting in a concentrated, smoky broth that redefines the ramen experience. Don’t hesitate to follow your cravings—every choice leads to the same high-level, savory intensity.
